I always wanted to be a great coach. In the beginning, I did what I could, mainly going with my gut feeling. When I became a people manager, learning to coach well became really important. So, I started to spend more time reading and learning about it.
I'm not done learning yet. It's something that keeps going, but I'm sure I'm better at it now than I was before.
